Cooper & Scully, P.C. Accepts Verdicts Hall of Fame Award

December 8, 2014

Dallas, TX – The law firm of Cooper & Scully, P.C., was inducted into Texas Lawyer's Texas Verdicts Hall of Fame for the second consecutive year.  The 2014 win consisted of trial team R. Brent Cooper, Micah Dortch, and Chris Lindstrom, who obtained a $20 million dollar verdict on behalf of their client, Royce Homes, L.P.

The verdict secured in Rodney Tow v. Amegy Bank N.A., et al ranked among the top 5 verdicts in the award category of Fraud.  The 2011 lawsuit sought to recover fraudulently transferred property of Royce Homes and to recover damages against various defendants for, inter alia, breach of partnership agreement, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, conspiracy, unjust enrichment, conversion, constructive trust, and other claims.

The firm was honored at a reception and dinner held on November 20 at the Tower Club in downtown Dallas, and was also recognized in a special supplement published last week in an issue of Texas Lawyer.  The included firms were chosen based on their work on the top verdicts, in terms of dollar amount awarded to the winning client, from 2010-2013 as reported to VerdictSearch.

In addition to the Texas Verdicts Hall of Fame honor, Cooper & Scully was recently named one of the country's "Best Law Firms" in the 2015 Edition of U.S. News - Best Lawyers, including a Metropolitan Tier 1 ranking among Dallas firms for both insurance and appellate law.
