Diana L. Faust

Diana has represented parties in appeals and original proceedings in a variety of courts including the Supreme Court of Texas, all Texas courts of appeals, and other state appellate courts around the nation.  She is also admitted to practice before the Fifth, Eighth, Tenth and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals of the United States, and the United States Supreme Court.

Diana’s appellate practice includes all aspects of post-trial proceedings, appellate briefing, and oral argument before state and federal courts.  She also evaluates potential appeals and original proceedings and frequently prepares amicus briefs addressing important legal issues before the Supreme Court of Texas, various Texas intermediate courts of appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.  Diana consults with various organizations and entities to provide assistance in developing strategies for addressing important legal issues arising within the State.

Diana also provides pre-trial litigation support for Cooper & Scully’s trial teams, as well as litigation and appellate support for other firms throughout Texas.  Her practice focuses on complex pretrial and trial motions, dispositive motions, jury charge conference, and error preservation.

Diana graduated from University of Houston-Clear Lake, magna cum laude, in 1992.  After earning her juris doctor from the Southern Methodist University School of Law, cum laude, Diana served as Briefing Attorney to the Hon. James A. Baker and the Hon. Deborah G. Hankinson, Justices, Dallas Court of Appeals, 1995-1996.

Diana has been named in the Texas Super Lawyers® list (2007-2008) and Texas Super Lawyers® Rising Stars® list (2005) by Thomson Reuters Legal.  She has appeared as a guest speaker on Sky Radio Network’s America’s Most Influential Women.
