Webinar: Implications of the Dodd-Frank Act on Insurance

Wednesday, December 8, 2010
12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m. (CDT)

Via Webinar

Presenters: Nisha Byers & Michelle Robberson

As the legislative response to the "too big to fail" phenomenon, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 contains sweeping reforms of the financial industry. But, the Act also contains numerous provisions that will directly affect the insurance industry, including insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and agents in Texas.

Join us on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, as we review some of the main provisions of the Act and evaluate the Act's impact on the business of insurance in Texas. The speakers also will consider whether the Act foreshadows the demise of the McCarran-Ferguson Act (which exempted the insurance industry from most federal regulation) and signals a new frontier of national regulation of the insurance industry.
