Brent Cooper & Micah Dortch to Speak at NBI Seminar

Cooper & Scully attorneys R. Brent Cooper and Micah Dortch have been selected to present at Personal Injury 101, a seminar put on by the National Business Institute.  Brent and Micah will speak on the topics "Insurance, Liens and Subrogation," as well as "Presentation and Evidence." 

In their first presentation, they will focus on first-party benefits (including no-fault personal injury protection (PIP) and additional personal injury protection (A-PIP), as well as underinsured motorist coverage).  Determining coverage and excess Tortfeasor's coverage will be touched on. Lastly, they will discuss Medicaid/Medicare liens, hospital liens and worker's compensation liens, and how to determine priority and negoatiate the value of these liens.

They will discuss the different options for presenting evidence, such as charts/diagrams, power point, text and video.  The topic will also address challenges involved in the presentation of evidence during trial, how to present the evidence in a clear, convincing, and compelling manner, and will offer clever ways to hold the jurors’ attention and help them understand key pieces of the puzzle in layman’s terms.
