Team Cooper & Scully to Compete at Camp Craig Allen Amateur BBQ Cookoff

Come out and join Cooper & Scully at the 8th Annual Camp Craig Allen Amateur BBQ Cook-off and Festival at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, TX on June 12-13!

Camp Craig Allen will host its 8th Annual Amateur BBQ Cook-off on June 12-13, 2015 at Toyota Stadium in the Red Corolla Lot (9200 World Cup Way, Frisco, TX 75033.). The 8th Annual Amateur BBQ Cook-off will be a two-day event starting Friday, June 12th, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for ticket holders and Saturday, June 13th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The kick-off party and concert will be held Friday night from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. for ticketholders and includes casino tables, live bands, cash bars, a live auction, and dinner buffet from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased on the website. On Friday, there will be awards given for Best Margarita, Best Bloody Mary, Best BBQ Sauce and Best BBQ Team Decoration.

On Saturday, June 13th, gates will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with an awards ceremony on the main stage at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 and gives you unlimited sampling of all entries including BBQ, beans and desserts. The festivities will last throughout the day with the BBQ competition, jalapeño-eating contest, kids area, a silent auction, live music, life-size Jenga, and wheelchair sports.

Going from a footprint of 343 parking lot spaces from previous years at Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine, to this area of 1200 lot spaces at Toyota Stadium will be a very large expansion and an opportunity for the Frisco community to really get behind a grass roots project, with the intent to build Camp Craig Allen in Frisco.

Since 2007, Camp Craig Allen has worked tirelessly to raise money and awareness to benefit people with physical disabilities. Just as they have the past seven years, Camp Craig Allen is having an amateur BBQ fundraiser to meet the goal of building a barrier-free facility with no age limit. Fundraising efforts from the 2013 fundraiser allowed an expansion of programs including the North Texas Wheelchair Hockey League.  Programs continue throughout the year for so many families across North Texas.  For more information about the event or Camp Craig Allen, visit the BBQ Cook-off page under the "events" tab on the website at www.camperaigallen.org.
