The panel will discuss the recent Supreme Court of Texas majority and dissenting opinions in In re North Cypress Medical Center.  The webinar will analyze the majority’s holding that information about a hospital’s negotiated reimbursement rates with health care insurers and government payers is relevant to the claim by an uninsured patient that the hospital’s lien includes unreasonable charges for medical and health care.  The discussion will also address the impact of the court’s holding on hospitals and third party payers across the state in cases involving not only the reasonableness of the hospital’s lien but any case involving uninsured patient care and charges for same.
