This topic will explore Texas law on the duty to defend. It will examine the guidelines available to insurers and the circumstances that have been recognized by Texas courts where extrinsic evidence may be examined in determining the duty to defend. It will also examine options available to insureds and insurers to alter the rules that have been adopted by Texas courts.
