Beth Kropf, MD, JD
Beth Kropf, M.D., J.D., received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1988. Following medical school she completed her internship at Scott and White Memorial Hospital, affiliated with Texas A&M School of Medicine. Subsequently, she served as General Medical Officer in the U.S. Army where she practiced ambulatory medicine for four years. At the conclusion of her military service in 1993, Beth joined an active OB/GYN practice in Austin, Texas, where she was a partner for 21 years. During her last few years with the OB/GYN practice, she attended the University of Houston Law Center while still maintaining an active medical practice and became licensed to practice law in 2014.
Beth then joined a national medical malpractice insurance carrier as a Senior Claims Counsel, managing a national docket with particular emphasis in the area of OB/GYN. In addition to managing medical malpractice claims, including supervision of outside defense counsel and development of litigation strategy, she served as Senior Risk Management Consultant, advising physician practices on risk management strategies. Beth also managed regulatory matters including CMS audits, HIPAA violations, cyber liability, and Texas Medical Board actions as well as claims involving physician peer review and credentialing.
Beth is married and has two daughters, one of which is a physician in her residency training and the other is pursuing a graduate degree in licensed professional counseling.
