Kate is an associate in the firm’s Austin office where her practice focuses on healthcare liability defense, healthcare administrative law, and general insurance defense.
Kate, a seventh generation Texan raised in San Antonio, received a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with honors. While at UT, she was awarded the Bernard Rapoport Scholarship to study literature at Brasenose College, Oxford University, U.K. In 2010, Kate earned her M.A. with honors in Writing from the University of Southern California. While at USC, she worked closely with several esteemed writers from many genres including Academy Award nominated writer, Phyllis Nagy. Before attending law school, Kate worked in the writing and publishing industries.
In 2018, Kate received her Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School. She was awarded the Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarship, was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, and was a Dean’s List recipient on multiple occasions. Kate also had the distinct honor of receiving the John B. and Eula Berly Fisher Award in Constitutional Law, which is awarded to those students who achieve the highest grade in Constitutional Law and related subjects. She was a member of the Student Bar Association and the Women’s Legal Society. Kate served as a summer clerk for Steed, Dunnill Reynolds, Bailey & Stephenson.
Kate is an active member in the Austin community and an avid Longhorn and Spurs fan. She enjoys exploring the city with friends and spending Saturday mornings on one of Austin’s many greenbelts with her dog, Daisy.
