John C. Faubion Photo

John Faubion is a civil trial lawyer specializing in the areas of professional liability and commercial litigation.  He serves as lead counsel for hospital systems and physicians defending cases involving catastrophic injury or wrongful death where his clients face multimillion-dollar exposure. As an extension of his medical malpractice work, John helps his clients with related issues including: premises liability, medical device/products liability, negligent credentialing, employment issues, and more.  John also serves as lead counsel and outside general counsel to commercial clients.  In this role, he prosecutes and defends cases involving breach of contract, fraud, defamation, and more.  John’s peers have recognized him as a Texas Super Lawyers® Rising Star by Thomson Reuters Legal every year since 2020.

John practices in state and federal courts throughout Texas and New Mexico. He has appeared in other jurisdictions pro hac vice to defend unique or high value cases. He also maintains an active administrative practice representing physicians before the Texas Medical Board.  John regularly advises both corporate and individual clients on risk management strategies, pre-suit investigation, and alternative dispute resolution.

John was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  After practicing in the firm’s Dallas office for five years, he helped launch the firm’s Austin, Texas office in 2018.  John’s free time is spent with his wife trying to keep pace with their two young children.  John enjoys getting outside whenever possible and may be found with a fishing rod in his hand, hiking a trail, or supporting Texas Longhorn athletics.
