Eric is an experienced trial lawyer who primarily focuses his trial practice on employment litigation, health law and personal injury litigation, representing his clients before trial and appellate courts, arbitrators, and mediators. Eric has extensive first and second chair trial experience in medical malpractice, employment, wrongful death, products liability and high-stakes commercial cases. Eric has tried cases involving significant damages to verdict throughout Texas.  Eric has recently obtained jury verdicts in favor of his clients in a medical malpractice case, an employment discrimination lawsuit, an automobile wrongful death suit and a commercial litigation matter, including LDJH Ltd. v. Yellow Jacket Oilfield Services, LLC, Gerardus Smith, and Tommy Robertson, which was named as one of the top 100 verdicts in the nation for 2017 by ALM Verdict Search and The National Law Journal.

In his over 20 years of practice, Eric finds himself most comfortable in the courtroom fighting for his client in front of a jury. Eric’s mindset is to prepare each case as if it will be tried.  This mindset and his experience let Eric identify critical issues and facts from day one and best position his clients for a successful outcome.

Eric’s practice also encompasses a broad spectrum of clients and legal fields. Eric has developed significant knowledge of the state and federal statutory law and case law governing highly specialized and regulated fields. He consistently advises and defends hospitals, physicians, professional associations, nurses, nursing homes, and individuals in cases involving:

• medical negligence and malpractice,
• medical equipment defects,
• employment litigation,
• staff credentialing and peer review,
• licensing and review boards,
• products liability issues, and
• professional negligence.

Eric has provided extensive representation to clients throughout the transportation industry.  This representation includes advising these clients on regulatory matters in the industry and trying wrongful death cases and serious injury cases on behalf of clients in this sector.

He also regularly advises corporations, small businesses, and individuals in matters involving:

• contract and commercial disputes, and
• intellectual property issues.

Eric loves spending time with his wife and his son.  His free time is spent watching or coaching his son’s sports teams.
