James N. Kuritzkes is an associate in the Firm’s Dallas office who focuses his practice on defending some of the nation’s largest retailers and trucking companies against claims of premises liability, trucking accidents, and pharmaceutical negligence.

Before joining Cooper & Scully, James was an associate at a full-service defense firm in Dallas where he defended clients against lawsuits involving automobile collisions, first-party insurance claims, commercial litigation, and premises liability. James managed every stage of the litigation process and obtained several favorable jury verdicts while sitting first-chair.

James earned his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. At Wake Forest, James was a moot court board member, served as an articles editor for the Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law, and coached the University’s undergraduate mock trial team. James also took an active role in the Winston-Salem community by volunteering with the Forsyth County Teen Court, a diversionary program for first-time teenage misdemeanor offenders, and at the Forsyth County Public Defender’s Office.

Prior to law school, James attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where he earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics. Outside the classroom, James pioneered several student organizations, including the European Cuisine Society and the Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group. James also competed in the discus, shot put, and hammer throw on the College’s track & field team and was chosen by his teammates to be a team captain during his senior year.

In his free time, James enjoys bowling, traveling, and adventuring with his wife, Rebecca. As a Philadelphia native, James also likes to spend time rooting on Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles.
