Nicholas “Nick” Baker is an associate in the Dallas office of Cooper & Scully, P.C. His practice includes insurance coverage and commercial litigation. Nick has experience representing both policyholders and insurers in complex coverage disputes involving policy interpretation, compliance with policy requirements, and extra-contractual obligations in state and federal courts. His practice also includes commercial litigation involving sophisticated business entities.

Nick’s background spans legislative affairs, real estate, and financial compliance, giving him experience at the intersection of law, business, and public policy.

Nick earned his J.D. cum laude from Baylor University School of Law, where he was a finalist in the Dawson & Sodd Moot Court Competition and was recognized as the competition’s second-best speaker. He also earned a B.B.A. in Finance, with a minor in Political Science, from Baylor University, graduating cum laude.

Before entering private practice, Nick served as a legislative aide in the Texas House of Representatives, where he drafted legislation and helped manage bills through the legislative process. His professional background also includes work as a licensed real estate agent, providing him with practical insight into real estate transactions and the business considerations that often accompany them.

Nick has also volunteered with organizations serving individuals with disabilities. Outside the office, he enjoys skiing, playing the piano, and following the real estate market.
