John C. Faubion
John is an associate in the Dallas office of Cooper & Scully, P.C. He routinely works on matters involving professional liability, business and commercial torts, employment disputes, premises liability, personal injury, breach of contract, and fraud.
John has practiced in state, federal, and administrative venues. He provides representation for clients from pre-suit investigations through trial and has significant experience in depositions, written discovery, witness preparation, and motion practice.
John has also gained substantial experience in high-stakes, complex litigation through his involvement in jury trials that have consistently resulted in favorable verdicts for his clients. Within the first three years of his practice, John worked with Cooper & Scully, P.C.’s founding shareholder John Scully to obtain favorable verdicts as both a plaintiff and a defendant. Notably, in 2016, John worked as a member of the trial team to successfully obtain a defense verdict on behalf of a major hospital in a wrongful birth case involving cystic fibrosis. Immediately following that trial, John worked on a complex business dispute with breach of contract and fraud claims relating to the sale of an oilfield services company, and ultimately obtained a favorable verdict on behalf of the individual client.
John is a Dallas native who attended the University of Texas at Austin for undergraduate studies before returning home to earn his J.D. from the SMU Dedman School of Law. During law school, John served as Managing Editor for the International Law Review, represented indigent clients as a student attorney in the SMU Civil Clinic, and studied comparative international law the University of Oxford.
John and his wife, Marcelle, live in the Lakewood area of Dallas and enjoy taking their two dogs on nearby adventures. In his free time, John enjoys fishing on the Texas coast and supporting the Texas Longhorns.
