Maryssa J. Simpson
Maryssa is a litigation associate in the Dallas office of Cooper & Scully, P.C. She focuses her practice in the area of commercial litigation. Maryssa grew up in the small town of Bridgeport, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law. During law school, Maryssa was an advocate for a national championship mock trial team and received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award. Her background gave her a passion for trial work, and she carries that forward in her practice.
Maryssa grew up in a family of trial lawyers. This experience gave her a comprehensive understanding of the various facets of litigation, which helps her better meet the needs of her clients. She enjoys representing her clients in all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, written discovery, depositions, settlement, hearings, and trial preparation.
Maryssa's practice involves a wide range of commercial disputes, including negligence, breach of contract, personal injury, professional negligence, insurance coverage, premises liability, and general insurance defense issues. Maryssa has represented her clients before state and federal courts throughout Texas.
