Tarron Gartner-Ilai has more than 28 years of extensive experience litigating complex disputes in first-and third-party insurance coverage, including general liability, errors & omissions, directors & officers liability, oil & gas, cyber liability, commercial property, specialty risk, disability, bond and fidelity disputes. As third-party insurance typically involves underlying liability claims, Tarron’s expertise also extends into other areas of the law, including banking, intellectual property, cyber liability, personal injury, products liability, commercial disputes, consumer protection law, maritime law and securities law. Tarron’s in-depth knowledge of the industry allows her to provide creative and unique solutions to highly complex insurance coverage disputes.
Earlier in her career, Tarron spent nearly a decade as Second Vice President of an A+-rated insurer, first as Managing Claim Coverage Counsel, and then as a General Counselor. Her experience working directly for an insurer gave her insight on the importance of working collaboratively with her clients. Tarron has vast experience with regulatory compliance issues, and has assisted numerous clients with market conduct exams and responding to the Department of Insurance complaints. Tarron has represented companies of all sizes, including several fortune-500 and fortune-1000 companies, assisting with their insurance programs and policy reviews. She works closely with risk-managers and C-Suite executives to assess, manage, and mitigate their primary risks. Tarron believes her time as in-house counsel to be a fundamental cornerstone of her practice.
In addition to her zealous commitment to her clients, Tarron balances a family of six in two different cities. She is the proud mother of four children, including two daughters who are well on their way to their own careers, and twin boys, Ethan and Aiden. Tarron’s husband Doron is the President and CEO of Austinuts Wholesale, Inc., an Austin-based gourmet nut roasting company.
